well report of my finish the BOM before Christmas... i finished Mosiah and Alma this week. so thats kinda cool, alma is super long, but also like the best book ever! i love alma.
so this week was Genadyne's baptism! boom, it was so cool! she has this rocking testimony and i think it is the coolest thing ever to see. we taught her all the lessons and everything from the beginning and im pretty sure she knows more than a lot of the members before her. she is so smart! and when she shared her testimony it was so powerful, especially when she said, "and i am going to keep the commandments for the rest of my life..." it was the coolest.
OH MY AND CALEB IS IN THE MTC!!!!!!!!!!
that made me so happy, i took a pic of my calender on that day due to my overwhelming excitment! that guy, Elder, is going to change lives.
this week we had the mulizone Christmas dinner. it was so cool. our President is seriously the best guy ever! he is definitly here as President for a reason. there were 4 other elders from my group in the MTC too! elders Hanson, Day, Steele, and Williams. that was awesome to see them.
anyway, two experiance:
i had a pretty cool learning experiance about faith this week. so this week i think on wednesday, i got a pretty aweful migraine during lunch. we had a ton of appoinments that day too and four hours of time that members actually agreed to go visit with us, which never happens... so i was sort of super bummed out, cause it was a pretty terrible mirgraine. so during lunch i said like 4 prayers asking to be able to do the things we have planned to go teach and help peeople here in Salcedo. well nothing got any better, so we went to the room and i laid down for a bit. after about 30 minutes it was really bugging me, i didnt come here to lay down in bed! so i got up and told my comp that lets go, im going to do what i can.
well by the time we got to the main street, my head felt like it was going to turn into a freaking rocketship and burst into the moon or something of that sort. and this is where i learned something cool... we we approached the first house we were to visit i noticed the my head didnt hurt anymore.... it went from the worst ever to nothing. and so this is what i learned. praying with faith means more than just praying and saying something like, "i believe, or i know you can..." when we pray with faith it mean that after our prayer we GO AND DO everything we can. faith requires action. as soon as i made the choice to get up and be like "im going to go do what i can, help me" then the miracle came. after. just like in Ether 12:6 "dispute not because you see not, for you receive no witness until AFTER the trial of your faith"
experiance 2:
well there wasa birthday party at the bishops for member and well they had me sing songs for her birthday hahaha! they used youtube for the minus track music! hahaa it was so funny. i sang happy birthday, let it snow, my heart will go on, the first noel, and everything! it wasa crack up.
anyway, the church is true. it really is. and this is the Lords work and there is nothing like being a part of it. sometimes is super hard. not cause the work is actually the hard part, for me anyway, but just because sometimes things dont work out how you planned, sometimes theres hard goodbyes, and when someone doesnt accept the blessing youre trying to share it hurts. you hurt for them, cause they have no idea what they dont have. and then sometimes its the happiest thing ever to see someone accept and change their lives.
so that life in Peru form Elder Yorgesen!
