well so im offically back in Salcedo. it was super weird in all reality. salcedo is totally different than Los Incas. Los Incas is so much more busy, people cars everywhere, and Salcedo is more like a ghost town. very few people out and about and very quiet. very different places.
to be honest it was actually a really hard and sad week for me. the trio is over, how lame is that? ha. that was like the best companionship on the planet. it was actually hard to say goodbye to those guys. but luckily elder Jara is a cool guy as well. he speaks 0 english, so thats probaly good for my spanish ha, but he helps me a lot and doesnt seem to get frustrated when i dont understand, which i apprecieate, beause form my point of view learning a new language is really difficult. its getting better though. sooo much better than when i started. anway....
in news of the mission,
I HAD MY FIRST BAPTISM
wow, it was an awesome experiance, i tell you what. His name is Lenyn and he is 15 years old and now his whole family are members. it was serious one of the coolest things ive ever been a part of. he was super worried about the water being cold, which i thought was hilarious. it wasnt cold at all ha. but i can tell you that being a part of that, helping him come unto Christ and choose to be baptized was something that i cant really explain. it was so cool. it was a good reminder of why we are here. not to really baptize people, to help them come unto Christ and to see the joy in his whole family, and even his older brother who flew in from Lima. i know families back home travel all over for family events but here that is so much harder and so that was really cool. its definitly on of the moments in my mission that i wont forget.
also i have made a goal to finish the BOM in spanish before Christmas... im in mosiah and reading in spanish is a bit slower than in english, but im determined to get it before. Gorden B Hinckley promised that anyone that reads the BOM in their mission language will be "sufficaintly proficiant" in that language... wow i cant spell, maybe i should read it in english...
so yeah, im excited about that, i just read every opportunity i get.
anyway, another week in Salcedo Peru,
Elder Yorgesen
