First i want to give a big, HAPPY VALENTINE's DAY to all of you!
this day is actually going to be super special for us down here. but it has nothing to do with the typical Valentines day stuff, and i am more excited about it than i am about anything! so this 14th is valentines day, saturday, and we have two baptisms! L and D! and they are awesome and have rocking testimonies! it is the coolest thing ever, i cant even explain it.
so with both of them, we found them through contacting. and both of them we found in the big park thing in salcedo. and now after teaching L since week one of this change and D more recently, they are both going to be baptized on this saturday and are all set and both super excited to make these steps unto Christ. L has convinced her Boyfriend, who is a less active member, who is awesome by the way, to come to church, AND next week he wants to sing a special number with me in sacrament meeting! how awesome is that! so we;ll see if that actually goes down, haha! that would be super sweet though, i tell you what.
so thats kinda the super awesome news... sorry i wish i could actually explain things better than that, i know tha was kinda lame.
two more things.
first we had a multi zona this thurdays with 4 other zones i belive. over 100 elders. and it was so cool, i didnt want to leave. seeing everyone was awesome, plus including me, 10 people from my group from the CCM were there! Elder(s) Bodily, Pierce, Asi, Steele, Adromidus, Lambert, Williams, Day, and Hanson. that was like the reuinion of a life time right there. anyway, the conference was awesome as well, i am convinced we have the best mission president in the world. he is so awesome, and i learn so much from him every single time i see him. i love that guy. so we have some pretty cool new goals as a mission, and one of which includes doubling the number of converts from the last year in this year. 1200. thats a strong, functioning stake right there. pretty cool. at the end of the cconference when we were shaking hands with President Harbetson we had a small little exchnage, in which he said, "you are probably the happiest person i know, dont lose that." made me think a bit.
the other thing, Inspired goals are real. we have a goal for 3 baptisms this month. we as you all know we only have 2 with a date to be baptized and every week without another with a date made reaching our goal harder and harder. well we were running out of possiblitities. we were doing everything we could but no one else was progressing. then we got a call from some elders in a zone here in Puno. well they had a reference for us that they had been teaching, then discovered that she actually lives in Salcedo and passed her to us. well she is 16, has attended church and wants to be baptized! sometimes we recieve goals or promptings for these goals, and dont see how they are going to work out, but if we do what we can, the Lord makes up the difference. i dont know if she will actually be baptized yet. it really depends on her dad and if he will allow it. but i know that that wasnt by chance, that wasa divine given goal, and the Lord has provided an opportunity to see it fulfilled. and that's super cool.
anyway. life is good here, and yeah, happy valentines day!
