so Hna Florian, who was here in salcedo when i started my mission when sister missionaries were here, came to salcedo (she finished the mission) with HER PARENTS. i was seriously trippin out. it was the strangest thing of my life, i tell you what. they were quite obvious in the chapel. i forgot that i probably sick out like that as well haha. and they brought some chocolates and peanut butter. i dont even like peanut butter but i actually ate 5 PB's and J's this morning just because i dont even know why, but it was cool and such. it was so bizzare to see people and speak my beautiful native tongue.
my favorite quotes of the week were these:
"we/re *insert religion here* we dont have time for religious obligations"
and, coming from a very young little man with the voice of a chipmunk:
"the thing is i am *insert religion here*, you are going to excuse me, take care! Go with God!... and his grandma in the background: muy bien, hijo.
i just walked away and about died laughing, that kid was so awesome.
anyway, so this week was a bit of an up and down that ended super good.
we were rejected a ton this week. we had found a lot of people, 4 actaully, that were super interested in hearing us out, and invted us to visit them and it was awesome and we were super excited. cause well, thats like a super miracle! but none of them turned out. the youngest of the 4 is 21. so these are all people who in my opionion should be able to make their own decsions. but its a little different here. and each one, as we went to visit them, their dad, one their mom, was waiting for us out front and quickly told us off and that we should stop molesting and destroying their family... so that got me a little bit down and irritated.
it makes me sad when people are prepared, but for reasons that arent theirs, they cant continue.
but this week ended pretty sweet.
so saturday was the Baptism of Tatiana! coolest thing ever. our distrct had 3 baptisms this saturday and Tatiana was one of them. and her testimony was the most coolest thing ever and wow. i wish you could all hear it from her. she has a powerful testimony. after her baptism she shared her testimony with everyone and she shared some cool stuff.
so when we came and knocked on her door, she had just gotten back from Lima and had decieded she wanted to change her life and was going to look for the truth and try and find out more about the church. and as she had consouisly made that decicion, we knocked on her door.
we talked for a few minutes about this oscar that doesnt exist ha, and then she came down, we talked, set up an appointment for the next day and i gave her a Book of Mormon.
as she shut the door she said " i felt super happy as soon as i shut the door. and i didnt know why, and i felt something in the chest that felt bigger than me and was growing inside and i sat down and began to read..."
she said she now understands what tht feeling is as we ahve taught of the Spirit and for the times then and after that the Spirit has testified to her of the BOM she knows it is true. it was the coolest thing ever.
also this week, her brother has accepted a baptismal date for the 9th of may, and also Nicole, Dania, and John for the same day, and it all happened at the end of the week. hard work pays off in the end.
anyway, so this week was cool and we are just going to work till we drop here in salcedo. apparently it should be getting cold here soon. its what they all say and everyone is freaking out about it. but people are always cold here, even when its hot, so im not too worried about it,
love yall!
