i cant believe april is almost over! i never even had aprils fools i just realized and that is kind of sad.
so this week was a lot of walking and walking and walking.
like a ton of walking. we had very few appointments this week. we had them scheduled and all that good stuff but we would show up and no one would be home. so that was kind of a bummer.
in the mission we always have plan b's for moments like this because it happens. but the really sad thing is by wednesday we were planning plan d's. and still not having appointments. its hard to help people gain testimonies in the restored gospel when you cant find them....
so we ended up with a lot of time to contact. sadly in salcedo this is also a little bit difficult just because there arent a lot of people ha! but no the less we contacted pretty much everyone.
through this we may have actually found someone with real potencial.
actually she found us. ha!
we went to buy some bread in a little tienda by our residence for breakfast. and well as we were talking to her mom, who owns the tienda, she jumped in and asked us how she can unite herself with the church! so we set up an appointment and yeah, so that was cool! and then the whole day we both felt as if we needed to go backa nd give her a book of mormon. so we marked a few chapters in a book of mormon and found her as she was leaving and gave her the book of mormon.
and the real cool part is that she actually read it! when we had an appointment with her she had questions and it was awesome. she is super awesome. shes not completely ready yet, but she has the desire to find a testimony for herself and actually does what she says she is going to do. the only bummer is that she has very little time because of the university. so teaching will be slow and gradual, but if she continues to read and pray she will find her awnsers for herself. so thats super cool.
today was awesome. we hike a pretty huge mountain and is was exhausting! but is was super sweet. like the best deal. and when we finally reached the top, it just so happened that a storm rolled in, us in our short sleeves, and it was a hail storm, so that hurt but is was cool. that being said after hours of hiking, we made it down the mountain in less than 30 minutes.
lifes good and the mission is cool and i love salcedo!
