wow, well today was quite the day and its not even over.
I HAVE A CHANGE! so i went from salcedo 2 to salcedo 1, ha! Elder Gonzabay is now my companion, his comp just finished his training and is going to juliaca, my comp (elder Jara) is going to train a new elder here in salcedo. so yeah, basically im still in the best place ever, elder gonzabay goes home this change, ha! but i switched all of our investigators with it, which makes me sad... i want to still work with them so bad! but we'll see how it all works out.
anyway, so this week was so nuts i dont even know how to actually fit these things in!
so yeah, wednesday we had a service deal. well we had to get specially persmission cause it was an all day thing, we were asked to go and help them work in their feilds that are about 3 hours away. i tell you what though, wednesday i fell in love with Peru. we drive 3 hours in this anciant van, stuffed with family and extended family, to this area that is just beautiful. i aboslutly loved it. we dugged trenches for about 5 hours, and my hands were all blitered and bloody. it was weird, when the biggest one pooped while i was digging, the blood shot like crazy all over my hand, but it was cold and refreshing to my hand, and at first i thought it must have started raining! ha! then i looked at my hand and yeah, i discovered then at that point that it was not rain. anyway, the area was beautiful. none of the city stuff, just crops and small mud hut that skattered the land, and mountains that shot up from the flat plains. seriously it was awesome. and being with their fam and ectended fam the whole day was even more awesome! and after we finished working we had lunch! of those rottenn potatoes deals and fish... i ate the fish ha. i believe that Chunos, the rotten potatoe things, only exist because there needs be opposition in all things. after we went to this river deal in the cove surrounded by mountains. this area was rolling green hills, rocky mountain, with this little river with a small waterfall running throught the middle. i dont really know why i loved it so much, but it was seriously the best.
so yeah... this week was awesome in church as well... we had 21 people who weve been working with come to church! 14 of which are less active members! there is some serious progression here in Salcedo! i seriously love this place. also we had 155 in total in church, which is about 40 more on average than the other wards here. and its because the mmebers here are awesome and are so involved. the difference a ward can make in the work of salvation, in reality, is a hundered times more powerful than just the missionaries.
anyway, i dont really know any of my investigators now, so thats fun. i really wish i could continue to work with Yojana, but yeah, thats life sometimes, we'll see what happens.
this week have been awesome though and i can even explain everything in an email, but the church is true and this is like the coolest thing ever to be doing, to share these "glad tidings of great joy" that Christ lives, loves us, we can repent, we can know who we are and where we are going, and we can be with out families for ever. seriously, its so cool.
love you all!
