but it was soo good. i just might not eat breakfast for a week or 2. but it was totally worth it.
also we ran into some people from Utah today! they are here for some engineering deal from Utah State, the Aggies! and they spoke spanish and so that was super weirding me out because they are RMs and we talked in spanish with these guys for like 40 min. it was super tight.
they were cool.
so this week was actually pretty tough getting appointment to fill the days, but it was ok because it was for a good reason. you see, we have been working with a lot of recent converts and some less actives to prepare them for the temple and it turned out that 5 of our converts here and two people who were considered, they are now recent converts as well, were about to got to the temple with the ward! it was awesome! it was hard because 7 people that we usually teach at least once were all gone at the smae time, but there is not a cooler thing in the world, and this sunday they all shared their testimonies in sacrament meeting and it was the coolest thing ever.
i also shared mine and everyone is sure im goign to have a change and it makes me sad and they all were calling it the last testimony. poop.
also, the mission does weird things and i actually like peanut butter now and that is super super weird and i dont understand at all. but yeah that just happened.
so thanks to the fact that everyone was gone, we had lots of time that we could dedicate to looking for new people to teach. and we did a lot of looking without any success. until saturday.
so we have the largest sector in all of puno, and im pretty sure in the mission in general. so we walked about 40 mintues outside of our usual area to contact. we went out behind rinconada, its like the last part of our secotr before you start entering little pueblos, and contacted out there. we ended up in this spot where everyone lives in these tiny mud hut and there they also have their work. its in this super awesome area surrounded by mountains and huge rocks and you feel like you just went back in time 200 years. it was super cool. and for a living this whole pueblo makes bricks! they have huge clay ovens constucted and then they have bit pits in the ground and there is one person shaping the bricks and another in the pit mixing the mud around to make the mud for the bricks to be shaped and then inserted into these enormus clay ovens. its like in the Prince of Egypt. its super awesome. ..
i think i am going to ask them if we can do some service or something cause i want to mashed mud and cow poop with my feet, that would be so freaking cool.
anyway the cool part of this experiance... we contacted them and well we have appoibntments on wed. and thats awesome, maybe 4 new investigators wed. and,..... one of them is wilfredo, and HE ACTUALLY CAME TO CHURCH THIS SUNDAY. BEFORE WE HAVE EVEN TAUGHT HIM!
and he gave a prayer after chucrch because he had questions for us and so we were in one of the rooms and talking about prayer. he had been told by people who live in the pueblo in the middle of no where, that we can only pray at 12 at night because that is when God hears us. and that if not you are praying to the devil. i have no idea where that came from.
anyway we taught him about prayer, how we talk to God and how he even talks to us. and anyway it was good stuff and we invited him to give a prayer. first i gave a small, really simple prayer to give him an example. and then he prayed. and it was one of the most awesome prayers i have ever heard in my life.
he gave a long but heart felt prayer, we told him to say what he feels and he really took that to heart and let it all out. he said in his prayer that he felt like a new person ever since he walked into the chaple. it was awesome i tell you what.
anyway, so the church is true and God answers prayers.
stay strong and make good choices!
